UBO Register – Ultimate Beneficial Owner
Virtually all businesses in the Netherlands have recently become subject to the requirement to enter its owners and stakeholders in the UBO Register. Registration opened on 27 September 2020. We’ll give an brief explanation of the obligations regarding the UBO register.
How it works
The Register has been created to prevent fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing and tax evasion. If you qualify as an Ultimate Beneficial Owner, you are obliged to enter your name in the UBO Register.
The Dutch Chamber of Commerce will send you an invitation to register. Please consult your Accon International adviser to discuss whether you need to make any changes before you proceed to enter your details in the Register.
- Registrations have been accepted since 27 September 2020. You can register even if you have not received an invitation from the Chamber of Commerce.
- You are expected to enter your details in the Register before 27 March 2022.
- If you qualify as the UBO of multiple companies, you are required to register for each company separately.
Please make sure that you meet the deadline for UBO registration in the Netherlands. Your Accon International adviser would be happy to help you get started.Need advice on this subject?
